The Taizé community is an ecumenical monastic order with a strong devotion to peace and justice through prayer and meditation.

 

The Taizé European Meeting, the "Pilgrimage of trust on Earth" is an initiative by the ecumenical Taizé Community to encourage young people to build trust, peace, and reconciliation in the world through prayer, simple living, and community engagement, will take place in Paris and throughout the Île-de-France region.

At the invitation of Archbishop of Paris and local Churches of different denominations, thousands of young people from across Europe aged 18 to 35 will come together for prayer and sharing, in a spirit of celebration and friendship.

Key Details:

• Dates: December 28, 2025 - January 1, 2026.

• Location: Paris 

• Theme: The meeting will focus on prayer, sharing, celebration, and friendship, with a spirit of pilgrimage and trust on earth.

• Ages: Young adults aged 18-35.

 

Activities:​

• Each day there will be times of prayer together and small-group sharing.

• In the mornings, participants will discover local initiatives and meet witnesses to hope.

• Midday prayers will be held in the large churches of Paris.

• In the afternoon, workshops on many different topics will be offered.

• Evening prayers will bring all the participants together in a large space in the centre of the city.

• Celebrating New Year in Paris

 

Accommodation: 

• As many participants as possible will be hosted by local residents. This search for accommodation will be handled by the Christian communities of Paris and the surrounding region.

• We will travel together by coach from London to Paris in the evening 27th December and back in the evening 01st January 2026
